ARPARPARP

Alex Pughe (ARPARPARP) is a multimedia artist, performer, and creative facilitator based in Chester and originally from North Wales. Their practice is rooted in play, queerness, and the joyful mess of memory. Under the name ARPARPARP, Alex explores the kitsch and the glamourous, nostalgia and curiosity - drawing from a rich inner world of special interests and obsessions.

 

With a BA in Art and Visual Culture from the University of the West of England, Bristol, and an MSc in Museum Studies from the University of Chester, Alex brings a deep love of history to their creative work. Medieval illustration, glitter, slugs, dogs, quatrefoils, sequins, and fragments of the everyday all serve as inspiration — often woven together in bold, tactile combinations.
